Natalie and Joey found me the best way possible: they watched me DJ another wedding as guests, and booked me for their own. On May 25, 2024, I DJed and MCed their ceremony and reception at Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, one of my favorite places to DJ.

Setting the room
Sherwood’s ballroom is bright and elegant, with tall windows and a coffered ceiling, so lighting makes a big difference once the sun goes down. I lit the whole room with LED up-lighting, creating columns of light along the walls, and added dance-floor lighting to give the party its own energy. I also handled the sound for the ceremony, so the music carried from the walk down the aisle to the last dance.

The night at Sherwood
The dance floor opened with a Persian intro dance and never really slowed down. From there I moved through a Persian-to-hip-hop open dance, high-energy EDM sets and some of my favorite mashups, like In Da Club into Crazy in Love and Thunder into Timber, with creative, stylized transitions that kept every generation on the floor.
