El Paseo is one of my favorite rooms in Santa Barbara. The restaurant sits inside the historic El Paseo courtyard on Anacapa Street, a Spanish-style space of arches, fountains, wrought iron and candlelit tables, half indoors and half under the sky. I’ve been DJing weddings there since 2011.
How I set up at El Paseo
A courtyard like this rewards a light touch. My battery-powered wireless speakers tuck into the space without cables across the tile, so the room keeps its look, and sound fills the courtyard evenly instead of blasting from one corner. Up-lighting on the arches and walls brings out the architecture once the sun goes down.
Keeping the night moving
In a courtyard reception, timing is everything. I'll work with you and the El Paseo team on when to shift from dinner music to the dance floor so the energy builds naturally.
Something about El Paseo always turns a wedding into a full-on party. Some of my most energetic, fun crowds have celebrated here.
